Our teams are expanding across the U.S., and we're looking for experienced Resident Engineers to oversee high-impact construction projects in Washington D.C., California, and New York.
As a Resident Engineer (RE), you will be the on-site authority for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and successful delivery. You'll serve as the main point of contact between contractors, design teams, and project stakeholders, applying your technical expertise to manage construction activities from start to finish.
This is a key field leadership role where your presence on-site ensures excellence in execution and fosters trust with clients and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary site representative for ARX during construction.
- Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, schedules, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with design teams to resolve field issues and implement solutions in real time.
- Lead site meetings and maintain daily logs, reports, and construction documentation.
- Oversee materials testing, inspection procedures, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols.
- Communicate regularly with contractors, clients, and agency representatives to track progress and address concerns.
- Enforce environmental, regulatory, and safety compliance.
- Mentor field staff and contribute to a positive team dynamic on-site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction management or resident engineering for water, wastewater, utility, or transportation projects.
- Experience with DOT, municipal, or public works projects is highly valued.
- Solid knowledge of construction documentation, specifications, codes, and field engineering practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, Unifier, or similar).
- Willingness to be based on-site during construction and occasionally travel between sites.
