Senior Tunnel Engineer - 100% (m/f)

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of detailed design for Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) projects and other tunneling methods (conventional, Drill&Blast), including temporary works and interfaces between various disciplines. This role is critical in delivering complex infrastructure projects quality and efficiency from design through to execution.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the detailed design of tunnel structures, including TBM-bored tunnels and other tunnelling methods.
Develop and review designs for temporary works associated with tunnel construction, including tunnel support systems, shafts, and access structures.
Ensure designs comply with project specifications, local standards, and safety requirements. Assess geotechnical and structural risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (MEP, structural, geotechnical, and environmental) to manage complex interfaces.
Provide expert guidance in troubleshooting design and construction challenges, leveraging extensive industry experience to optimize solutions.
Take a leadership role in technical meetings, providing clear, detailed insights to inform project decisions.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 20 years of experience in tunnel engineering, with a focus on detailed tunnel design projects.
Proficiency in tunnelling principles and design software (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC, or similar).
In-depth knowledge of temporary works design, tunnel support systems, and geotechnical principles.
Strong understanding of safety standards, particularly in the context of tunneling and underground construction (NFPA, TSI,...).
Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards.
Middle-East Experience is Preferable

For our office in Dubai, we are looking for Digital Engineer – Transportation Infrastructure Design 100% (m/f) The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Python, Java, and VBA, as well as a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. Experience with software development methodologies and familiarity with digital engineering tools (such as CAD, BIM, and PLM) is a plus. The candidate should be a collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. PINI Group is seeking for a talented and agile middle Hydrology and Drainage Engineer to join our fast-growing Dubai office. The professional figure shall be well acquainted with the Middle East hydraulic design environment and will be working for iconic and large-scale projects in the Region. Responsibilities: - Independently undertake hydrological analysis including, but not limited to rainfall analysis, catchment delineation and peak flow estimation, using widely used and recognized software such as WMS and HEC-HMS - Studying and developing flood mitigation countermeasures and stormwater networks with minimum supervision, using widely used and recognized software such as SEWER GEMS - Perform 2D hydraulic simulations autonomously, using widely used and recognized software such as HEC-RAS and ICM Infoworks - Independently carry out the hydraulic design of culverts, using widely used and recognized software such as HY8 or Culvert Master - Independently carry out the hydraulic computations of open flow drainage structures - Independently carry out the hydraulic design of bridges, performing scour studies and sizing the scour countermeasures - Preparation of technical reports - Drafting technical drawings - Supervise the Draftsmen in the preparation of the technical drawings - 3D modelling of the proposed solution in Civil3D. They should be capable of working within a team of engineers while mentoring junior staff members. Proficiency in specific software programs for developing engineering designs, such as FE, CAD drafting, and BIM, is required, along with knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent software. Familiarity with CDE (Common Data Environment) and BIM-specific software is considered an advantage. The candidate should understand interdisciplinary dependencies and effects and be a team player who promotes a positive working environment. A proactive approach in interfacing with peers from other engineering disciplines is essential, as well as possessing good knowledge of Health & Safety principles.
